The Nurvrax Jam is hosted by The John Morris Trio who lay down the jazz grooves for the first part of the evening, taking in such styles as jazz, funk, soul, latin and fusion.
For the second part of the evening the stage opens up for an open jam session, where anyone with an instrument is welcome to get into the groove.

Kenneth Hamilton, long-standing member of Birmingham University Music Department, and now Professor of Music at Cardiff University, transfers his ever-popular lecture-recitals to the Bramall building in a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of John Ireland, one of Britain's most important and intriguing composers.
Using the Bramall's splendid new Steinway concert grand, he explores the characteristics of Ireland's bittersweet late-Romantic style with a performance of the hauntingly memorable Sonata in E, undoubtedly among the finest of all 20th-century piano sonatas.

The Camper Stage, which is as you might have guessed, a Camper Van that turns into a stage with a full PA and lighting rig will be officially launched on Saturday 24th November at Spotlight in Birmingham. The bar will be open and there will be music and other acts playing on the stage from 6:30pm. Food will be available all night from the Digbeth Dining Club street traders.

Glenn Howells, founding director of Glenn Howells Architects will discuss the design and build of the new Bramall Music Building, alongside Sir Jeremy Dixon, of Dixon Jones, who will talk about his work on the Royal Opera House and Kings Place. They will be joined by architect Ruth Reed, former President of RIBA, and lecturer at Birmingham City University.
House band at The Old Joint Stock Pub and Theatre, Birmingham, Four on the Floor is a vibrant young band formed from musicians of Birmingham Conservatoire. The piano trio, featuring Andy Bunting (piano), Nick Jurd (double bass) and Jonathan Silk (drums) is a swinging group working in and around the Birmingham area. Playing in various different venues for gigs and private functions, the band is building a strong reputation through regular playing, particularly at The Old Joint Stock. Playing many well known Jazz standards and exploring the tradition of Jazz music, the band is focussing on creating inventive music and entertaining listeners.

Join us for this mid-morning event with composer Richard Baker, composer/sound artist Nye Parry and BCMG percussionist Julian Warburton, to gain an insight into Richard Baker’s working method and get a first taste of his Sound Investment piece for ensemble and electronics, which we premiere in our February 2013 concert.
Vocalist Rajesh David performs Indian classical and traditional folk accompanied by tabla and saxophone. Inspired by devotional and yogic practices, this performance includes devotional bhajans, classical ghazals, Indian folk and some Welsh-inspired poetry.
