There is a question mark in the title, not because Tamar is unsure if she'll perform... she's just unsure presently of exactly what this may entail!

Tamar is a contemporary artist of the visual kind, as opposed to the musical. Her previous work has included paintings, installation, and even driving around in ludicrous cars. She has dabbled in a little performance art. In fact, over the last year she's been waxing lyrical about including performance into her arts practice. So far this has involved having a go at singing covers at open mics/acoustic sessions, joining Derrick D's band The Backbones and practising with various talented and friendly musicians who have been open-minded enough to play alongside an eccentric artist.

Initially this slot was going to be 'straight' singing accompanied by Mick Jeynes on bass & Cath Reaney on Djembe drum.

Tamar has decided to take the plunge and explore a little performance using the songs of Fiona Apple as a framework to introduce a little spoken word with a burlesque flavour into the set.

She is meeting with the talented Tim McGrath (Double bass, bass guitar and electric/acoustic guitar), Glynn Phillips (Percussionist extraordinaire), Naomi (Deep & soulful vocals), Mick Jeynes (Bass guitar) and Cath Reaney (Djembe drum, vocals) to have a play with a few ideas, and if these come to fruition, you will see the fruits of their labour in the 20 minute set.

Even if the 'art performance' element isn't quite ready for this gig, expect to hear reinterpreted covers of songs that explore emotion and a different instrumental line up than you normally hear. Two basses work - we've already tried :-)

If all else fails, it will be worth coming to see the ultimate diva Persephone, the stunning retro mic, lovingly bejewelled with over 700 Swarovski crystals.

The venue is the Brown Lion (18 hall street Birmingham B18 6BS), and is part of the Acoustic Chaos Club, which has recently returned to the venue. The night kicks off at around 8pm and carries on until closing time.

They are performing a 20 minute slot, alongside many other talented acts, including Irish folk inspired band Kilbreige. They look forward to seeing you there!!!

Nb. The pictured doll is Asylum of Broken Doll's interpretation of 'Miss X' from 'The Diaries of Miss X', one of Tamar's 2007 art projects
